Suit up strap in close canopy & bail out! 4 times!

7 days into the adventure

I/we are fortunate that people like Joe Hansen of DJ SAFETY are on the salt. Not only did he deliver our helmets, but when the fire suits needed to be upgraded to withstand front engine fuel fire specs, he was there and had stock with him. Meanwhile he is checking on his wife in a California hospital. Thanks for the dedication to both family and racers.
Now today we are also in the precess of both Werner and me having to go through bailout drills to make sure we know what to do and can actually get stopped and unbuckled then bail out of a burning car before the safety crew arrives. Note the Safety guys could be back at the beginning of your crash but you mat slide and or roll for two or three miles further down the course. A result of high speed smooth cars and smooth salt! Mark Johnson oversees my first couple and then must leave as it is time for him to make a record attempt. GOOD LUCK Mark and thanks for volunteering to help rookies like us.

That's Joe Hansen of DJ Safety standing on the other side with the rose coloured glasses. Both DJ and Deist have good products and are always good to deal with by phone or at the salt flats on Speed week.
